Hello, I am new to this forum and to good knives in general, but I need some advice from the experts. I am an Army Aviator and I am looking for a knife that I can fly with, deploy with, and use as a daily carry. Preferably a small folder, something that is made in america and doesn't need that much attention from me to keep it up and running. Any good suggestions for this lost soldier?

the best knives i have are the benchmade mini-griptillian and the spyderco delica. the spyderco is made in Japan though. Both companies make much higher end knives though.

I agree the Spyderco Native, at $40 from Walmart can't be beat. I also like the Al Mar Mini Sere. This one goes for $145 on the Internet knife sites.

Small USA made folder = Benchmade 525. It's an overbuilt knife that can take a beating yet is small enough to go anywhere. Benchmade does 154CM very well so the edge will last a while. Drop point saber ground blade cuts well and is still strong.

The Spyderco Native is also a good choice. The Military is most definitely not a small folder.

The Spyderco Native is a lot of bang for the buck. It is a useful size, high-end steel, holds a keen edge, and is easy to open and close even with gloves on. Also, at $40 bucks, it's not a heart-breaker if you ever lose it.
