Well after seeing the pic of the PBF that bakerj posted, I thought I would share a couple of photos of my PBF 8". I bought the knife (which was originally unwrapped) off of eBay a long time back. I then contacted Canadian master knifemaker Wally Hayes and asked him if he would wrap the handle for me. Being the great guy he is, Wally did a super job with it! He wrapped the handle with black stingray skin first, then wrapped it with nylon cord which he epoxied. He also put one of his signature silver dragon menuki figures under the cord. The knife looks and feels great. This is what a quality job should end up looking like!

Now I am trying to decide what is the best sheath rig to have made for it. I would like to go for something different than a belt sheath. I think a shoulder rig would be pretty sweet. Any ideas?

Very nice wrap on that handle. How much does he charge for that I wonder.

BakerJ, do not look at the pics, unless you are taking your prozac.

Outstanding handle work!! Damm, if I had known the naked PBF's could look like that I would have picked up a set :)

That's good. The PBF's are the best kept Busse secret. think about it a Full 1/4 inch thick 8 inch blade of INFI for so cheap and you can handle it the way you want.

You're right Cobalt. In fact, I would like to get another PBF and have it refinished to a satin finish, if this is possible. Then get some sweet handle scales put on. I imagine getting the coating blasted off and having the steel polished to a high mirror finish would be pretty time consuming and fairly costly. Has anyone had this process done with a crinkle coat blade?

I'm not too sure Bravado; I haven't gotten that far yet into my brain-storming process :) But I do suppose it can be done. I just saw the pic of the customized PBF that Cobalt posted in BakerJ's PBU Variant post. That knife is similar to the 'dream knife' that I have envisioned. That blade is awesome looking and the added bolsters is a nice touch.

He did a hell of a job, I never liked the looks of them with the yellow wrap, but this looks great, I bet he was a nice guy to chat with as well.

Yeah, Wally Hayes is not only an awesome knifemaker, but he is a real friendly guy who is willing to help you out.
