I am Beginning my search for my first neck knife. I would like to get one for the winter. I am a snowboarder and spend most of my winter outside. I want something that locks in tight so I know I wont have to worry about losing it. I would like at least a 3 inch blade. I weight is not that big of an issue but I would like something that is pretty flat and will stay in place. I have been looked into both the becker-necker and the cold steel point-gaurd and they both seem like cool knives. I am just interested in what you all think about those knives and any other suggestions you might have for a knife novice.

The becker necker is a good choice, although it is made of carbon steel, which is a bit more prone to rust, and due your enviroment (snow) I might would suggest something made out of a stainless steel, like a bark river bravo necker.

Randall King/Jim burke syphon and snitch

Nemesis 2 zreo

Boker plus Gnome

Boker prymate

Benchmade instigator

Benchmade 210

Black Talon Neck Knife

HAK hide away knife

Spyderco swick

Check those out,
I'm sure you'll dig at least one of them.

that is a good point that i did not think of...

I like the look of that IZULA but its a carbon steel too...

if you are worried about the steel rusting you might want to look into a BRKT bravo necker, but the sheathing isnt terrific from what i have heard
i live near the ocean and have zero problems with rust on my izula. i dont think it should be a worry

+1 Izula. I think it's a great affordable, hard use neck knife.

After that you can save up for some Carter's, though.

I'm on the Izula or Becker Necker bandwagon! I have had no rust issues before.

Taking nothing away from any other suggestions...they're all good knives!!

BTW...the Boker Prymate is a sweet knife, just a little expensive for me right now...

The Fallkniven WM1, and Buck Mayo Kaala are great knives, however i don't like their sheaths, especially the Kaala.
