Ok so I've decided to try out a modern interpretation of a Nessmuk trio. I hunt and camp in hardwood forests and need knives that can function appropriately for big and small game processing while still being tough enough for bushcraft chores. As it stands, with PRICE and my physical stature in mind, I've decided on the tools below accompanied by my bow/.410, a 20lbs ruck sack, ghillie suit, and a sleeping bag with bug netting to accompany me on a 2 week hunting/camping/hiking trip, let me know if you think my nessmuk candidates would stand up, and if they wouldn't tell me why or what gear YOU would recommend.
1. Fiskars X15 23.5in Chopping Axe
2. Schrade SCHF19 6.5in (blade) Extreme Surival Knife
3. Ka Bar/Becker D'Eskabar 3in (blade) Kneck Knife
Ps.. my rucksack is MOLLE so the axe would be lashed to the side. And I can carry a small fire steel, basic fishing kit, small sharpener and small led light in the aux pocket of the Schrade sheath as an extra back up if I were to be seperated from my pack. Thought that was a plus
Thanks guys, Jake.
