A good one for LE use? MOD CQD 1 or Strider?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and the reason I'm here is that I'm looking for a good folder for LE use. I'm looking for something that will help cut a rope ( helpful for those calls where you have someone hanging from one) and that will be strong enough to pry a little bit. A good overall folder, for general use. I was looking at the MOD CDQ I and a Buck-Strider. The CQD is available on e-bay and the Strider at a local store. You guys are much more knowledgeable about this than I am. The CDQ has some cool gadgets like the blades in the handle and a carbide window breaker. I've broken windows in the past without such gadgets but do you guys think it's worth investing a little more for that carbide window breaker? On the other hand, the Strider looks like it's really tough and call handle a lot. I guess I'm asking you guys to decide for me or show me the pros and cons of both models. I've had a Spyderco Delica and found it pretty flimsy, I was always scared of having the blade breaking. If you can suggest anything else that isn't too hard to find, please go ahead.
Thanks all!
Dom!

That MOD looks pretty mean and I like the notch that lets you cut line and things without opening the blade, haven't held one though.

If you're willing to spend that kind of cash you should also check out the Extrema Ratio M.P.C. I have the Fulcrum II T, tank tough and a blade that just won't dull. It also features a little jut of that cobalt steel comming out of the end of the handle for glass breaking, but no notch for closed blade cutting.

I bought it from Dave from davesknifeworld.com. He gave me a 5% military discount and a sheath free of charge, he'd probably do the same discount for LE.

For a cheaper alternative Emerson makes a line of super tough knives that feature their "wave" that allows for quick opening off of your pocket. I've held a few at the local knife shop and they are nice.

Check them all out, one's bound to make you happy!

If you want a knife that's good for prying too, definately check out the Extremas.

i have a CDQ mark I. i think that it's a strong knife, it has a nice thick blade and a big handle. i don't use it hard but i think it hold it well. if you find a good price it's worth getting. the buck strider is a very good knife also! good luck with your choice. :)
