Just rec. a CQC tanto from Josh at PVKT. It is the plain edge and tanto point with hard chrome finish. Made in 2000. Green very grippy G10 handle slabs. I love the CQC style of all the EKI knives and have owned several of this variant over the yrs. This one has the best lock up of any I have owned. Grinds are flawless and the liners are ever very highly polished with very little tool marks showing. The liner lock just fully engages the back of the tang and does not fail the spine whack test. Could have been sharper but I have remedied that with just a light back sharpening of the bevel. Now a very toothy edge which is good enough for me.

So now I have two different styles of knives that are dead nuts reliable for edc. The first is the MOD Tempest's and now I have 2 CQC's that are just as good. Got a great price on the CQC as well as the Tempest's too. 90 bucks plus shipping. I just may be set for the year as for buying knives. Sounds to good to be true but what more could one ask for really.

I have a BM axis lock Griptillian, CS xlg. clip point, Buck/Strider lg and small sp pt. Tarani, Spyderco 50/50 Endura, S2K, REKAT Carnivore, and well a bunch of others that don't get carried that much. Matter of fact the previously mentioned bunch don't get carried that much now that I have the MOD's and CQC's. Oh yea forgot to mention a Fred Carter designed black flame HD knife my buddy got me. That is a very good knife too belive it or not. Keepem sharp

PS this particular CQC is the best of the EKI's I have ever owned. Did I mention that? :)

Hold on to that one, they are no longer offering the hard chromed blades or the green G-10!

Well here is a pisser of a dilema. I was hacking at my trusty leather stuffed bike jacket that I use for the little s.d. training I do with a knife. And voila not only did I roll the edge alot, but I also put a chip in the blade about halfway in the center. So I have been reprofiling the edge. I am pissed at myself for sure. Not a big chip mind you but it is almost like a flake of metal came off the edge. Not all the way through if you all get my drift. Live and learn I guess. Have it out for the most part but now the cantle is getting wider etc.etc. keepem sharp

Not to beat a dead horse or anything. But I fixed the blade. I went out and bought a new Lansky system. The coarse stone came out of it holder on me and where it mounts to the guide rod it broke there also. Bought the cheaper set of stone hones. For some reason these hones work great. Repaired the edge, although it took a good while, and didn't mess the cantle up to bad at all. A bit wider but it is extremely sharp now and the edge is nice and even looking. keepem sharp
