What can be better?? A gift from a friend, and a rare knife!!! mrknife mrknife is becoming a great silversmith as well as being a great friend!! Behold his first set stone!!:)
Turquoise is my favorite gemstone, as you all may have noticed!!!Serendipitously this ring resembles closely a ring my mother gave me in my late teens, (60 years ago!!) and I carelessly lost a couple years later!!
I had a "moment" when I opened the package, I'll tell you!!!!
Thanks Jack!! It fits perfectly!!
And thanks for the silver coins, objects of the past!!
To fulfill the knife content, I included I included this Stockyard whittler, from Roy at Amercan Whittler! He didn't want to sell it, labelling it "too ugly", and a cosmetic "second"!!
I disagreed!! I am calling it my Wild Whittler!! Smooth bone, pretty wild looking!!:)

What a nice package Charlie! A beautiful ring and a beautiful Wild Whittler that anyone would be proud to own! Jack is a talented young jeweler! I may be mistaken (and I probably am) but I believe Jack told me his father was a jeweler. We missed seeing him at the Rendezvous this year. :)

Too ugly?!! That is fantastic! My favorite of those smooth bone 29's yet! What an incredible gift, congrats! Those 29s are a really great pattern!

What an amazingly kind gesture Charlie. I bet you had quite a moment at first sight. :)

What a fine gift!

(The knife is pretty darn nice also)

Think you might of got the pick of the litter . Nice ring too . I have a fondness for native jewelry styling. It was very popular in my circle growing up .

What a great looking knife and ring. For a first setting, that ring looks amazing.

I've toyed around with some silversmithing, but never have set anything. Just made some very simplistic round rings, and find it much more challenging than I imagined. And I'm only using silver bullion that is crazy soft.

.

Was wondering when it would make it to ya Charlie!! Thank you all for the kind words!!

It was quite the project and was suppose to get there as a get well present given the turqoise, but I had a little mishap with the first attempt.

Here are some pictures of the project in action

Glad to see it fit perfectly and bring back the fond memories!
