For some time I have had a Ontario Spec Plus Marine Knife laying in the Garage. Today I decided to make a Walking stick from a eight foot piece of Ash that I picked up while fishing last week. I couldn't find my hatchet so I picked up the Ontario knife and began to chop off the branches and whittle off the bark. It was still green. I chopped of about twenty small branches , debarked it and chopped off some good size knots all along the stick. When I started the knife had a very good edge on it and to my surprise, when I finished you could hardly tell that it had been used at all. Pretty darn good considering that I whacked the tailgate of the pickup a few times along the way. I would recommend this knife as a hard use survival and camping knife and the price makes it even a better value. Buy one if you want to use a knife hard.

NO I don't work for Ontario Knives but I appreciate a good product when I see it.:)

i have several spec plus models. i have the marine combat, fighter, bowie, and marine raider bowie. i love them and think they are a steal in the price v/s quality area.,,,VWB.

The ones I have are the 1095. I paid about 25 bucks for the ones I have about ten years ago. I have not used them all that much but I am going to start. I have some other D2 knives which I really like but I don't think they would outperform these by much and certainly not for the money. I have four or five from that time period.
