a good traditional edc

You can buy at least two good Case knives and at least one really top shelf GEC with stag.

I do own a case my dad bought me and broke the tip being stupid with it. What are the popular gec knives out? Or good ones?

can ya give us some more details on what you're looking for? Size, number of blades, blade steel, handle material, etc...

Sure I like stag and wood medium sized with 1 or 2 blades at the most. Also have a question what's the diffidence between serialized and non serialized does it matter?

No difference between serialized and non.

I prefer the non.

I love all my GEC.

Mosey on over to

collectorknives.net and look at what he has available. I have ordered 12? knives from him and been nothing but happy!

Serialized just means they put a number on the bolster, that's it, I'd say if you don't care about the number just get the non-serialized, they tend to be a little cheaper.

If you want to try out a GEC, my opinion is to go with the #73 pattern. The #73 pattern is the quintessential GEC pattern, it started it all for them and they have that thing nailed!

You can get a 1 or 2 bladed version in just about any handle material that you can think of. They are readily available at most retailers sites.

Okay cool ill look into that model. Thanks everyone for the input.

I like GEC knives very much, though I just realized (reading the above) that I have no experience with the #73s. Hunh.

In addition to browsing collectorknives.net and other sites, I'd recommend browsing the What "Traditional Knife" are you totin' today thread on this page, perhaps starting with later pages due to the images in earlier posts sometimes going missing.

See what catches your eye, and if it's not clear what knife model or maker is represented, feel free to ask.

Enjoy your search. :)

Thanks for the link ill go and browse through it

Do yourself a favor and pick up either the jack or moose on the 66 frame. Just a perfect pocket knife in a great pocket friendly size. Overbuilt in a good way and I wouldnt hesitate to use it hard and havent.
