Here is one of the best Sirupatis you will ever find. It is made and marked by Kumar and I believe he was trying to get a "thin" khukuri out of this one and simply could not bring himself to pound the steel down to 3/16 of an inch. I have a feeling this may prove to be a problem with the thin models we have asked for.

Anyway, this knife is 21 inches overall and weighs about 22 ounces -- light for a Sirupati of this size -- and it feels wonderful in the hand. The fit is within .010 and the finish is magic stone mirror. The hardness is 60 to 61 Rc -- better and harder than just about anything around. The handle is from the hill walnut and beautifully executed. The scrollwork and brass inlay looks like it has been done with a machine. Karda and chakma are good size and very well done. Scabbard is nicely made and tooled by sarki with no name and the frog is 75 year HI superfrog.

So, what's wrong with this rig? I am not telling. I have looked at more hand made khukuris than probably anybody in the US and I saw something about this knife that kept it out of the perfect category. Most people would probably not see what I did. It is a very minor flaw and will not affect life or performance of the blade. The rig still will rate a 9.9 out of 10 by me and most experts who are able to spot the flaw. If you find the flaw rate the knife as I do. If you do not find it rate it 10 of 10.

Because this knife is not perfect I will not sell it as such. Take it for $95 delivered to your door and count yourself among the winners from Reno for today.

Call or email if interested.

Before James could get back here and read my post about this being a replacement he had already emailed me the $95 via PayPal. Dealing with honest people is a joy. But what shall we do now, James? You have a $95 credit.

Oh, I forgot to mention this Sirupati has the HI super habaki bolster, too, James.

Well, I *do* have another purchase pending...

Thanks again for the kind offer though, Uncle.
