Must be something about Spydercos, I bought my first one, a Worker, when it first came out in the 80s. Bought it from the man himself, Sal. About a week after I got it my then GF and soon to be wife took it from my table and sent it out while I was away for work to have it engraved. When I got home I found this and have carried it till I removed it from my EDC pile and into my semi-retirement pile
We got married in city hall 2 weeks later.

She may not understand my hobby and fascination with knives but she supports me and is so happy it's knives rather than gambling, drinking or chasin' after other women

. She's bought me knives as gifts on her own 3 times. Once was a Japan made Magnum, Buck 110/Schrade LB7 copy, actually a really well made knife, she got lucky.
Second time was a Franklin Mint Gas Pump Collection of Cast Gas Pump shaped knives. The whole series was 12 knives at $36 a piece every other month. Took 2 years to get them all, woulda been nice to get a couple of Spydercos for the $400 or so dollars she spent on the Pump knives. Useless as knives I've decided to make a clock outta them some day.
Third time was a DDR Kit knife which came with an ATS34 blade and Micarta slabs for scales. I did all the work and finish work on the knife and it turned out to be one of my favorites and a damn good knife.
After that I just buy them and thank her for the knife, I get 1 knife a year from her as a birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, Xmas and April Fool's Day present. This insures I always get what I want.
