Hey Everybody.......

What a BLAST.........Thank you all for coming down......It was the best of times.....

Got to say a Great Big thanks to a bunch of people who helped make a difference.......John Stitt at KaBar for his generosity........He gave us a bunch of Fives to make smiley faces with and Huge chunks of fantastic beast to roast..........Steve Johnson and Nebraska Star Beef who grew the beast to roast........Doug Ritter and Adventure medical Kits for a bunch of First aid stuff and Doug Ritter's Personal survival kits to add to the prize Swag.....

Moose did a lot, a LOT...........Thank You!!

We are lucky in our mods.......Guyon and the incomparable Bladite ......Thanks!!!!!...

My son, John and his lovely Megan did us proud in the beast prep(and have you ever had biscuits quite like Megan's?).......Kay you are the best and Trade should be on his knees everyday thanking the fates for your arrival in his miserable pre-existence......Derek ya done good on the veggies........

A huge Thank you to America's one and only National Living Treasure Knifemaker....Mr. Jerry Fisk....For many of us the weekend was Mr. Jerry.......I consider Mr. Jerry to be one of the greatest craftsmen(yeah an artist too)alive today......He has an understanding of blades which is the product of both the study of the literature and knowledge gained at both forge and field and a careful appraisal f the others that follow his craft which may be unmatched.......He makes things of beauty that work beautifully......He is also possessed of a devious mind which has vexed many a cutting competitor.....His plumbers helper conundrum was a thing of sadistic perfection....Psych out!!!!.....Thank You Mr.Jerry for gracing us with yourself(and many thanks to Bob for your careful control of your subject).......

My great thanks to all of you who came and shared yourselves with the rest of us....Imagine over twenty people and I would cheerfully have each and every one of you back next weekend......It was great to have a person to hang next to the "handle".......Great conversation and fellowship, good food and a brewski or two, around a fire......What an honor to have you all .......THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!...

Come Back Soon.......

Ethan

Ethan We are the ones that have a lot of thanks to throw out there. This weekend I came away with a couple of incredible knives, tons of knowledge, a really full belly and most of all many new friends. Thank you so much for having us! If I can ever repay the hospitality, just let me know. I will make Sam come along too for the heavy lifting....:D

Ethan I'm truly hoping to join you all for the next one. I just hope that the gatherings keep getting better as they go. I'm just really bummed that I missed the chance to meet Mr. Fisk.

Thanks again for the hard work and hospitality E. Try to pick it up a little next time though. I only got two biscuits and three pieces of sausage before they ran out Sunday morning. I mean, seriously.

weird, i found this picnic basket full of the stuff :)

Thanks boss! We had a great time, so much so that we are already planning on getting down there for the next one. The missus had a blast, and I myself couldn't have had a better time if you paid me to. Like Kay said, it really did feel like coming home.

had a blast - greatly appreciated the hospitality -- had a blast with the cutting competition --- and gained 3 pounds eating all the good stuff that was put out there.
will definitely try to make the spring thing (and maybe even drag the wife along, willing or not)

Great time Thank you Uncle E. for your hospitality truly and honor and privilage to meet every one. By the way still having meat sweats.

Hey Sam....What the he'll are meat sweats...?.....They don't sound tasty somehow....lol...

Ethan

Meat sweats is what you get when the gods bless you with much roasted beast. Your body, in an attempt to show it's appreciation, will start sweating, shortly before you enter the meat delirium, in which case you experience a brief but pleasurable bout of near insanity, followed by the meat coma, which is a sleep from which you cannot be roused until the body has savored the plethora of roasted beast. One must be careful however, as too much meat can lead to meat amnesia, which is where you forget everything ever. Also, you sit on the toilet for two days.
