A great day for a hike

My wife and I finally had a chance to get out on a hike together today. We went to my cousins land in Bethany NY and walked down the old logging roadway to the back of her land. On the way down the logging road we saw a bunch of different birds, heard turkeys and ran into to a bunch of bugs. After a short sit we took the old railroad bed back to the road, after getting on the railroad I got one of my most prized photos that I have ever taken. I was looking over the bank off the railroad and saw a deer run, I saw something else moving and there was a fawn laying in the grass and weeds. I was able to get a couple of shots with the camera. Later we went to another place I lie to hike and found 2 pairs of geese with their young. I only put up a few shots but I think you will like them. Doug

Baby animal pictures are great. I managed to get a decent one of a nursing fawn on a backpacking trip in Olympic National Park last summer:

This doe was a lot more cooperative than yours... but that little head sticking out of the grass is very cute.

Is that a cardinal in the first image?

That is one sweet shot. That is one to be proud of. Yes that is a Cardinal. Doug

Nice pictures, Doug! I'de like to get out there with you again, that's real nice country. Plus, I've got some gear that needs to get dirty.

I should take pictures of the cardinals that are always outside my window in the bird feeder. Looks weird with all green in the background.

Great pics though.

brians thanks much, never too sharp we can do that, I should get some gear out and put it to work as well. TheGame those would still be cool. Doug
