I'm looking for your opinions on a great edc knife. If you had a 100$ to spend , what would you get . ( no automatics ) !

Thanks,

Hooah !

Mine is an ESEE-3 mil. Canvas micarta, 1095, feels great in hand, just right size, got mine for about $90 or so. And made in USA. What size you looking at?

Since this is the traditional forum, I'll recommend a full size Case yellow delrin trapper. The blades might be a little shy of 3.5", but not by much.

i have a case trapper for my edc and i love it, it has been going strong for 8 years now with no problems. case knives hold a good edge and for being 8 years old it still opens smooth and no blade rub. but do a little research and figure out what suits your needs best.

A GEC #23 Pioneer or #65 Ben Hogan. Both are 4 1/2" closed with blades right around 3 1/2".

i recommend getting 3 kershaw skylines for $100

i have an orange one in my pocket now.

Howdy,
This does not appear to be someone looking for a traditional design, else he'd not have had to post "no automatics".

Therefore, I am moving this from the Traditional Forum to the General Forum.

Sounds like you need a Spyderco Endura! They are fantastic, and you will not be disappointed.

Benchmade Mini-Gripitilian...I cant help it I keep recommending these after having carried so many blades including, Mini-Barrage, Para 2 (which I like just a little too big), Tenacious, Mini American Lawman, HEST2 (Tank...I have beat this like Ike does tina), ZT 0350 9Favorite tactical EDC), SAK Cybertool 34 (too big but still nice), and others...I keep coming back to my mini-grip. It is built well, great grip, love the axis lock, light, small, and smooth as silk. I like thumb studs and they open easy..easier than all my Spydercos, I like the belt clip and finally...it doesnt chew up my pocket. This has been the best and most practical EDC I have had so far. Only complaint is BM just cannot put an edge on their blades to the same level as Spyderco...which they are simply amazing out of the factory! I do like my spydercos but they are big and I am not as much of a fan of the hole vs the thumb stud. Also the profile they are a much bigger in the pocket when folded up. But cut wise they rock...my PARA2 is a slicer beyond belief!! This is the sharpest folder I own...the point is great but you have to be careful...I am hard on knives and I am wondering when I will break it. My mini-grips have been beat and they still hold up...but they dont have the point that I love on my Para2

I second a Benchmade Mini Griptilian. Good steel, made in the USA, totally ambidextrous, smooth opener that is easy to flick open, and can be closed in a similar motion. I didn't know I would even like the knife that much when I bought it. It's my EDC now for six months. Like the Para2, it's a forum favorite for the most part, but can be had for under $80 from a few places.

If made in USA is not a must, Enlan EL01 is a lot of knife for the price (20$ shipped).

If I have 100$, I'll get CS Hold Out II and CS XL Voyager Tanto (well both combined a bit over 100). Or, Spyderco Endura and CS XL Voyager Tanto to cover wide range of uses.

Although I'm not OP, and I don't wanna jack this thread, is the BM Griptilian too big for an EDC? I've been wanting to get one but there's nowhere close to me that sells em for me to check it out. I guess I'd be okay with the mini-grip but I'm looking for an extremely trustworthy EDC, and the stress tests I've seen of the Grip make me want it really bad.
