I posted this in the community forum, and thought it should go here as well..

With great sadness,a great friend and fellow black/bladesmith had a as far as I know a massive heart attack this morning and passed away.only 48 yrs old..Stuart was the guy and mentor who got me started in smithing 15 or more yrs ago,I usually saw him a few times a week and I damn sure will miss him..He leaves behind a 12 yr old daughter Abbie and wife Angie..Stuart made and sold quite a few hawks on here and Ebay if you have one you know what kind of meticulous work he did......he will truly be missed... All the Best Butch

RIP, Stuart.

sad loss and so young my thoughts for his family

RIP Stuart, and my condolences to his wife and daughter. I had Stuarts website bookmarked and admired his work.

Very sorry to hear of Stuarts passing....His Hawks were beautifully crafted....in fact I am currently watching one of his last being auctioned on Ebay. He made Hawks the way they should be made...beautifully functional art!!!

Just checked out that Hawk Stuart posted on Ebay....it's currently riding at $501.00 and climbing with about 30 hours left!!!!

Stuart is my uncle in law through my wife. He was always willing to help someone out when it came to metal/smithing. Angie has been strong through this, and the person that bought one of his last hawks paid his wife and told her to go ahead and keep the hawk. i'll let the family know of the kind words here.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to his family, friends and loved ones. Blessings to all.

I bought my first hawk from Stuart this past May. He was very talented.
My sincere condolences and prayers for his family and friends.

I was very sad to hear of his passing. Just a few months back I was speaking with him when I was fortunate enough to purchase one of his spike hawks. He and his work will live on in our hearts and minds.
