The generosity and friendships that I have been shown because of this forum is what keeps me coming back, then again, the knives ain't to bad either.
This place has a wow factor when it comes to character, talent, and overall feel of being at home. Thats saying something considering the size of this sub forum. There are so many great members here, but there are a few that stick out to me. I've had a chance to speak with them personally and I've gotten to know a little bit more about them then I would in general online conversation. I appreciate that and I thank this forum for that.

Duncan has been a contributing member for quite a while and he is a friend to many on this forum. His attitude, character and generosity make him stand out, his love of knives is also something to see and if you browse one of his many posts, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Duncan has hosted many giveaways here on this sub forum and because he tries to come up with new ideas on how to host it, it's always fun to see that he started one. Because of my love of photography, the photo contests will always be my favorite.

I have all but given up on buying knives, I've lost the love I once had for them and I look at my great collection of pocket pals and I realize there is nothing I need more. Aside from contacting a few custom knife makers, I have stopped buying knives. When I won Duncan's giveaway I got a feeling of excitement that I hadn't had in a long time.

After a long day of work I was shocked to see a package with my name on it, arriving from New Zealand. I didn't expect my new knife to be here so quickly, but it was.
The knife is beautiful and a real treasure for me. John Lloyd makes an awesome knife and knowing that Duncan used and enjoyed this knife makes it worth so much more. It's in my pocket right now and it will be there for a long while after today. It's a perfect example of the talent we have here on the forum, but more so it's a constant reminder of Duncan and the many generous forum members we have here.

Thanks again Duncan

I agree this forum is different. I will be receiving a gifted knife later on due to my work location, but I am amazed at the people that just give a particular knife to fulfill a wish or desire that is casually mentioned. This place is just like home. BTW, the jigging on that bone is incomparable. Enjoy!

WOW WHAT A KNIFE:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Very nice Johnny, and what a gift Duncan.

This simply is the best place on this forum with the best people:)

I think it was Mark Twain who said; "it's a darn shame that you can't pick your family as carefully as you pick your friends."

That's the way I feel that this forum is. I would pick these people as family over some of my real relations. I have a few relations that I really don't like, but the folks here, I would be very proud to call family. Very much a place several cuts above anywhere else on the 'net.

Or as my old scout master would say, "They'd do to go up the beach with!"

Carl.

Congrats and enjoy Johnny ans what a great gesture Duncan.

This forum never stops to amaze me with it's warmth and generosity.
It reminds me of the Spyderco forums where I almost "lived" from 2005 until about 2009.
Don't know if it's stil the same because I hardly visit it anymore.

I don't post as much as others and can't join the "collecting thing" because being unemployed and a single Dad at the moment, but I sure feel at home here.

I have several of Johns' knives so I know what a valued possession this one will be for you. But even more so because it comes as a gift from such a good fellow!

Awesome knife! Don't know Duncan but he must be a real cool dude to do something like that.

Hey, the bloke's photos aren't bad either! :D

That is a beautiful knife Mr Twoshoes. Duncan is a very generous guy. I find it hard to read this forum without having a big beaming smile on my face, which for an old curmudgeon is pretty special :) I agree with Carl, there's a real family atmosphere here, I find myself worrying if someone is 'away', and thinking about them while they're on holiday, enjoying their good times and sharing in the bad. I've felt so much kindness and warmth from people here, people going out of their way to be kind, and nice, and polite, and to do others a good turn. I have to say, there's a couple of things I'd like to send to others here, and my worry is that I'll be flooded with generosity in return! As inevitably happens! Traditional really is a special place :)

This past week I also keep thinking back to a post call made about getting off the train at Willougby :)

Great looking knife! Awesome win!

Man that is beautiful.the acorn really sets it off.
There are teethmarks appearing on my mailbox-.

Wow, I just came across this, and I am blown away by your extremely kind words Caleb, and to my other forum pals who have come in and said very nice things, thank you, but in all honesty its just learnt behaviour having had the utter priveledge to be able to hang around here.
Outside of these confines, I kick puppies, and crush little butterflies just for fun :grumpy: :D

no, not realy, I cant stand to see even the smallest living wee thing in any sort of distress lol

Thank you everyone, J2shoes my friend, please...enjoy the knife-and use it hard... it needs it!

Duncan's generosity (as much as his contribution to this forum) is always great, just like his giveaways. This Lloyd knife looks great, and the fact it's a gift surely makes it even greater. Congrats to caleb for winning the giveaway and for this thread, and thanks to Duncan for his generosity. The "Euro section" of BF waits for you here in Europe ;)
