The first article is a good one. I haven't seen this destruction of rural America but I hear it from those who live there. Walmarts everywhere, towns using eminent domain to shut out local businesses so big chain stores can build. That needs to change.
Though I would like to hear what "local products" he expects people to produce without the horrors of industry. Maybe those tax incentives should come with strict environmental regulations, so the area isn't bled dry or polluted. Job guarantees and requirements that X jobs be held for N years would be nice...
