Just to share some finish Ideas. This was a custom finished knife for a good guy on here who proudly serves our country.
We called this the Grunt finish.
-OD Canvas
-Acid washed and hand tumbled in copper 1/4" nails for added toughness;)
-Acid washed and hand rubbed clip, liner and LBS
-Oxidized Titanium handle. 1000 wet grit sanding followed by OXY treatment

Thank you ARK and Chris. I enjoyed this one.
When I say hand tumbled. I meant that I put the blade into a little wooden tray that I made with a lid and filled it with the small nails. And shook it vigorously back and forth (sifting style) for a longer mark feature instead of tiny little marks like on a fine stone wash. This has a different finish. Then flipping the blade over and doing the same back and forth to even it out.. :)

Nice looking finish. What does "hand tumbled" mean?

Ah i see, your giving your secrets away too quickly my friend. ;)

I hope not!
Here is a closer look. Kind of a spyderweb pattern. Not a good picture to show how even, but something left over.

Ti darkness from inside after cleaning off a dab of protective nail polish. This is just to show how dark we really went in the lighting.

Before final hand tumble.

You got it uxo2

I added a few along the way pics to show the blade and TI.
I really like it. If I still had my ZT this would be close to what I might do. He knows that if he changes his mind on the screws in the future I will do them for free.
But it looks good IMO anyway just the way he wanted it.

I REALLY like this, looks like the definition of a soldier's folder. Great work.

Thank you, I think it should have arrived to him this evening perhaps.
I fell confident that he will be happy with it, considering the feedback. Take care .
