Just to practice.I've seen it done & thought I'd give it a try.
It actually feels much better in hand with a handle on it. ;)
While carving with it the cord stretched a bit & the blade pivoted up a little,
but not bad enough that I couldn't use it.
Next I'll do a kydex handle that I've seen done where the blade pivots into the kydex just like a regular folder.

fun! makes it a lot easier to use.
will look forward to the folding kydex handle.

Here ya go vic.
Pretty easy to do.I just used some tin snips,1/2 round file,100&400 grit sand paper & a kiridasi to drill the hole.
(and a toaster oven & getto kydex press.)
Luckily I had the nut & screw on hand in one of my little parts drawers.(10-32 screw & nut.)
The nut is just hand tight so it can be taken off to use the blade on a spear if desired.
I had to put the back notch in the kydex for the butt to pivot through.
It's a lot easier to carve with this handle & doesn't feel too bad in hand.
I used a Birchwood Casey blueing touch up pen to blue the blade too.

Nice job with the kydex, I'm sure that makes it a little more comfortable to use

Hi mykel -

Nice idea!

You did a good job on the kydex too - thanks for the pictures.

best regards -

Hey,thanks everyone.
I took it to work & ground down the screw so it's flush with the nut & reprofiled the edge so it's a bit thinner & slicier now.
(yeah,I said slicier :p)

Nice job! I think I will be trying to make one of them kydex handles for mine. I like the JK tin knife, it's a beast of micro blade.
