I'm not a knifemaker, but I can't think of a better place to post a "WOW" note for the work of Robert Hankins.
In December 2003 he made and then sold via BladeForums his Dark Night Presentation Grade Fighter. Here is his original post with all the the details of the knife:

I figured I would like to have one of those someday and began saving my pennies. This past summer my pal Mike saw a picture of The Fighter and wanted one. So he and I asked Robert if he would make 2 of them, and Robert graciously consented.
I received mine on December 24th.... what a fabulous gift to open on Christmas morning !!
