Thanks to one of many very good pals here I can scratch the Hanshe off my list. Always appealed to me even though I've never held one.
Another itch that no longer needs scratching but if it does itch I got the perfect scratcher.

A Keshar Lal one of those in the tiny little etch a sketch window where they tried the vibro marker instead of stamping. Doesn't hurt it a bit in my mind.

Not a great close up, blame it on the poor photographer.

Quite a long handle but very comfortable and the diameter is close to perfect for my hand. She does have a boomerang blade, quite a curve although I have no plans to throw it and see if it comes back. She's border line wicked sharp and all polished up purty as can be.

Shifted things about a bit and found a nice home for it on the wall. I think it ties in nicely.

As is our practice I won't name my gifter, although it's probably not difficult to figure out being down south and round house and all.
Way he talked of this I was wondering how bad could it really be. The answer is it ain't bad at all. He's just got a darn good eye for stuff. She'll have a place of honor on my wall for quite a long spell I reckon.

Looks good, and that wall looks impressive.
By the way, what's that ninja-star-on-a-stick? Some kind of meat tenderizer? ;)

That is one fine looking blade man and looks right at home on your wall for sure. Yeah that round house guy is a a good one. Hey in the second pic what ya scratching on in the bottom left????? thats not ebony is it??? Anyho enjoy that fine blade man. Lots of good karma going on here.

That's actually a couple throwing stars my youngest son got me for Christmas, I haven't thrown that at anything yet, they are wicked sharp and scary. And there's a Pala Karda just hanging in front of them on the hook. Quite a nice little knife that one too.

I was wondering if you'd notice that. It is indeed the ebony for your Colt. I was working on those when I decided to take the pics and it just worked out fine. I got one side well under way. Nothing on the other. Trying to incorporate a little fleurdelis on the bottom, when I get done I'll try to figure out how to spell fleurdalis. Maybe.
I been thinking when I get them done, maybe we'll flip a coin and if I win you send the Colt to me. If you win I send the grips to you.
Sound like a plan?

Well heck we can flip but ya got to sweeten the pot some if I win I get the grips and the SKS and a couple other things, got to look some more, and if you win you get the Colt. Sounds fair too me

Damn, I didn't anticipate it being this easy. Your aware of my luck and good fortune on everything HI forum right?

I'm good on the SKS. I've never fired that one, it's the Russian machined one, a good one. Had it since right before Bill got appointed as Pres. Bought it mostly cause they were saying I wouldn't be able to have one.

Never tell bawanna he can't have something.

Congrats Bawanna! I've got it's twin, also by Keshar Lal with the same markings and everything.

I noticed on my new KLSK he used a different mark, I will have to make a post about it.

Its actually not that easy, and yes now I do remember your luch, so this is a suckers deal, me the sucker lol. That durn pistol has some serious work done to it, in total start to finish about $3500.00, but thats not what I got it for :D, but now I got your interest I might try to work it out with something else, been looking for the right SKS for ever.

Very pretty indeed!

On a side note I'd hate to be the bad guy who tries to break into Bawanna's place...

I'd hate for you to be the bad guy too, I believe that would break my heart.

Bawanna, Great looking Hanshe and fits in the wall as if that spot was made for it

Pugs $3500 for a newer colt? Wow, you basically replace all the internals or what? LOL. I am one of those purists for 1911s. I don't get mad about people "abusing" them by paying a fortune to tighten them up (well unless they are historically significant originally) like some folks but I don't choose to do that with mine. What all did you do to it?

It might break your heart but it would shatter my skull!

I love seeing collections of things my government won't let me have.

I can't imagine although ours of course is trying and wishing for the same thing.

Come on down anytime and I'll let you play with all kinds of fun stuff your government won't let you have.

Used to visit up north now and again, haven't been there in probably 25 years.

@ canadian I have several very very large guns from ww2 I can post on here eventually

Its a series 80 stainless Gold Cup that has even more refinement done, My friend had all the work done to it before I got it, killer trigger work, along the lines of the series 70, wilson barrel, tighter slide to frame fit, ambi safety, lots of other stuff heck I got it with 10 Wilson and McCormik (spelling) mags most with the brass bases. Believe me I would not spend that kind of money on one, but the deal I got on it I could not pass up.

Round house! I know that guy! When I put that Hanshee up on my wall it looks straight so I needed to find someone with a straight wall so it would look bent like its supposed to. Now it looks at home:thumbup: The vibro pen must have really been a trip for them to use. You can tell they struggled to draw the crescent moon and such. Probably was easier for them just to make their normal marks. I couldnt imagine trying to carve Devanagari script on a mirror surface like that. My AK Bowie is like that as well. It will be an interesting part of history someday though! For that I like that it happened but glad they went back to traditional methods.

I don't want to hijack Bawanna's thread but I wanna see some good ol' American "toy" collections, where would I post such a thread on this website?

We are allowed to own long guns fairly easily as long as it doesn't look scary (with a non restricted PAL) Handguns are slightly more difficult for the average Canadian (With a restricted PAL) I was diagnosed with depression a little over a year ago and thus the Harperment won't gimme my PAL...

we can start a new thread just for guns or use the "collections " thread I started a few months ago, I am down for either , as I love guns as much as I love knives.-- I have a modest collection of revolvers , and inherited many 1911's as well as a few other handguns, but like I said I love all of them. strange and old is better , stranger and older the better-- post here in the cantina of course
