a hard use pen? i.e. prying, pushing, etc.

hey guys. i am looking for a fairly specific pen to go along with me every day. my current pen is the zebra f-701 and it is starting to show signs of failure after using it for out of the norm tasks (things like prying rocks out of tires and depressing stubborn latches).

so what i am looking for:

rock solid frame that has no room to fail

fisher re-fill, or similar option

rides in a breast pocket

30 $ range shipped

not preferred:

twisty or clicky action

light weight

threaded cap

most likely a tactical pen will fill this role, i just don't know which one.

thanks,
XM

You need to find a more appropriate tool than a pen for those jobs, like a mini pry bar. A pen's job is to write. What you expect it to do makes as much sense as taking a pogo stick to the sand dunes.

Take a look at County Comm's Embassy pens. I'm not a "pen person" and I've never used one, but they look pretty snazzy and the choices of materials appeal to me (aluminum, stainless, titanium, and even copper,) They seem to fit most of the requirements you listed, also.

(Pro Tip - If you swing by County Comm, pick something out of their Widgy Bar line for prying on crap. Just because you can do an appendectomy with a grapefruit spoon, doesn't mean you should.)

Smith and Wesson M&P pen is what you just described. You will need to get a Fisher insert seperately, though.

having seen the tuffwriter promo video i beg to differ sir.

Else how can they charge a bomb for something like a pen? Get a tac pen and get a pry bar that fits into your pocket. Else one fine day you will realise the does not do its main job of writing well. :-)

An Atwood PryBaby is a good fun gadget and will do all the rough stuff you used your pen for (and will open your beer bottle to boot!).
