A Hawkbill model in ZDP-189

I bought my first Spyderco Endura today. It is a PE flat grind model with ZDP-189 steel. I am very satisfied with it. Now l look at my serrated VG-10 Harpy and l realize that l want a ZDP-189 hawk bill.It's only been a day but l absolutely love this steel. I was wondering why Spyderco doesn't offer the Harpy model in ZDP-189. I mean the Stretch; Endura and Delica models have ZDP-189 variants ; so why not the Harpy or Hawk bills. Since the Harp is used in marine applications; l would think that the supreme edge retention of the ZDP-189 hawk bills would be handy.

H1 tasman salt. Zdp189 hardness but much tougher. Problem solved.

ZDP189 doesn't perform well in SE. Also ZDP stain resistance not even close to H1 or VG10.

Exactly. Spyderco stopped offering serrated versions of ZDP-189 models due to excessive breakage of the serration's "teeth". It might work for a PE hawkbill not intended for use around the water, like the Karahawk, but that's about it.

The tip in a hawkbill zdp-189 model would break very easily, as would the serrations if it had them. The toughness just isn't there
