was cleaning/oiling my knives tonite, and heard something hit the floor - well i looked, didnt see anything, went back to oiling - later picked up my DDR mini maxx and noticed the thumbstud/bladestop was missing, gone, wow, flipped me out, then remembered that i heard something hit the floor - finally w/the aid of my Z2 surefire i found the 2 pieces, reinstalled w/a torx driver w/some loctite for good measure. then i got to thinking, and checked my cuda-maxx for the same thing and lo and behold it was loose as heck too, so i did the same on it.

i flip mine a lot which might have loosened them, but ya might check yours out for loosening, if it woulda came off outdoors i doubt i woulda found the thing, and the knife doesnt work well at all w/out it

hope this helps somebody

Yes, keep an eye on the stop pins for sure. When the ones on my CudaMaxx loosened up, the blade edge hit the handle standoffs and I got a couple of nice chips in the blade. After using red loctite, no more problems so far.

I'll keep an eye on mine, Thanks!

You may want to let Darrel know about this. This is the kind of FYI that helps him improve his knives.

hey wirebender i can see exactly how that could happen, the chips in blade, luckily i wasnt flipping it out hard, and i noticed it as i opened it up to oil the blade. if it woulda gone all the way around(?) if it can do that, it would have done it no good for sure. or hit the handle like yours.

it didnt look like either one of mine had loc tite on it. i would think it wouldnt happen again, hope not anyway, i would NEVER have them fall out twice and be lucky enough to find the pieces, lol

i bet DDR will see this and comment. certainly the only prob w/either one so far, am still gonna get a full size SP maxx, cuda maxx is ok, but i bet that maxx is something.......i KNOW the mini maxx certainly is a good one, love mine.......
