Generosity abounds here on the Traditional sub-forum as anyone who frequents can attest. I have been the recipient of more of that ubiquitous kindness and generosity. This time it manifests itself from our very own Mike Berkovitch from Israel. I have been the recipient of Mike's generosity before in the form of some coins from Israel. He surprised me again with a gift that is simply stunning and a grail for me. This beauty is worthy of a Knightly quest. I am proud to be the steward of this gem and will cherish it and provide it a good home.

The tang stamp reads: Henry Sears & Sons 1865 The bone covers, as you can see, are stunning. It is an equal end frame with a moose blade configuration ( clip blades), which is quite unusual. It sports one of my favorite shields, one which I have always wanted.

When I got home the other day, there was a sorry we missed you note from the post office. I hurried saddled up and made it to the post office as they were shutting the back door. I smiled at the man closing the door and he smiled back. He graciously found the package and gave it to me with a smile. I opened it right there under the blue sky in a kind of Zen moment. May that moment continue to expand and manifest in each of our lives.

Mike included a 1 Yen Japanese coin with this knife along with a wonderfully sentimental hand written note.

I am forever grateful, Mike!!

That's not just a Zen moment, it's a Zen eternity!

Remarkable knife, remarkable gesture.

regards, Will

Some of the best jigging, ever! Congrats, Gev, and good on ya, Mike. Just how long is that frame? Reminds me of the GEC Bighorn Moose, with two large clips.

Excellent turn of events. Great knife and as others have commented, great jigging. Love to see those blades!

It is a perfect 3 & 3/4 and a has a substantial weight to it indicative of a well made knife. I am still in awe!

Perfect size. Perfect configuration. PERFECT jigging. Beautiful knife, and a fantastic act of generosity. Bravo Mike, and congrats GeV.

Indeed it is worthy!

I love the jigging, blade patina, shield, and overall look of this knife. It is just so beautiful to my eye.

I would certainly believe that it came from a good home and has now arrived, at yet another. ;)

To gift such a nice looking knife is such a nice and thoughtful action - to gift an old antique knife of this caliber leaves me at a loss for the proper words.

I am amazed at some of the members here and that includes Mike Berkovitch. I commend him for his outstanding generosity!:D

Gorgeous jigging, I've said it all before, the Traditional Forums is a different kinda place, it's family dinner on Sunday, 4th of July picnic, rockin' on the front porch friendly.

These are the type of friends one finds here.

Congratulations on the gifted knife is beautiful.

You can't beat that with a stick, as my uncle used to say. That's as pretty an old knife as I've ever seen, Gev. We ought to get together one of these days, since we're both in Austin.

Wow, that bone! Spectacular knife gift. Way to go, Mike!

You are a lucky dog, G...
