Yep... Another BLADE Show, another smashing success from Busse Combat!!! A hearty thanxx to the Crew and to the Bossman too. :) As many of us know, it ain't just about the knives but also about family too, and it was great to see so many members of our family again enjoying the camaraderie over good food & drink & steel. :D:thumbup:

Since I consider most of y'all here my family, I wanna pass along a tip to whoever wants one...

MANY people scored, many got a few extra, many will probably want to see a few of these go to other good homes.

For those who didn't go to BLADE... Don't let your impatient desire for new INFI overcome your good common sense! Be "X" smart! :) Do your homework on what you want, and check around to consider all your options!! No point getting fleeced like a sheep. :p

Now before someone goes thinking that I'm setting up a teaser for an upcoming sale... Nope... If I am, it's unintentional and it ain't gonna be my sale as I'll probably not be seeing my 2010 BLADE Show haul for a good couple of weeks, thanxx to Busse kindly taking it all back to Ohio to ship it to me (much appreciated!!) and most likely well after so many good, deserving, & fair HOGS 'n' Piglets decide what they wanna keep and what they don't, so no...this is not my objective. My objective is to remind you to play it smart... Do your homework.

This has been a HOG's helpful TIP of the DAY...
Brought to you by...

Busse Combat... ONE TOUGH FAMILY. ;)

Now, to go sleep for two days straight...;)

Prudent tip Jaxx.

Plenty of times I've let myself chase a blade after a ganzaa or show and paid over the odds for it only to sell it having always liked the blade a little less because of what it cost me.

I for one will want to see what is offered in the next ganzaa and at what prices before I rush in on the exchange. If I hesitate and lose out then ''no regrets''.

Saying all that the B11's are testing my resolve massively...........

Excellent advice!
If I remember correctly, last year there was a Ganza where
many of the knives that were at the show
were sold.
Hopefully we will see an announcement for a Ganzaa soon!

Fleeced like a sheep is right. ;)

There is a pretty hefty mark up on those exchange B11's!

Good Gawd!!! They were only $257 at the show... Seeing the prices on the exchange is just nuts.

Patience is boring, but I think everyone will get their shot at some of the fine blades from this years blade show. I smell a Ganza... ;)

It might not seem as high as you might think. That was not the show price AFAIK and you have to factor in sales tax on top. IMO a $50 mark up is a steal considering most Busse's that are more than a couple years old are marked up nearly double their original price.

Like Jaxx said, do your research and be educated on your purchases.:D

Great advice Jaxx:thumbup:

No sales tax in the ganza, and most knives offered at Blade are usually in the upcoming ganza.
They'll also be some that decide to sell later, and will sell at there cost plus shipping.

^^^^^^^ hmmm.... I got my info from here. ;)

Wise piggies will wait on the ganza methinks... :)

Got me a B11 in Basic Black! (the asymmetric version has not been offered yet, presumably waiting for Jerry's arrival)

The Show Special price was only $257! Keep that in mind when you see them on the Exchange next week.

B11 show price= $267
JWBIB11ASYM show price-$197:eek:

What is a JWBIB11ASYM, you might ask???

There were a few that Jerry ground in which his favorite scotch let him down...or not enough was consumed first... ;)

Johnny Walker Blue (Blew) It Basic 11 Asymmetrical
They might have an "imperfect edge"... perhaps a bit wavy...not good enough by Jerry's standards to be called 'mint', not bad enough to toss out...but certainly fine enough to use the living **** out of! Sunday, these very few were offered to us, and OF COURSE, we snapped 'em up! :D:thumbup:

Got mine from here, and my proxy. :)

Looking at a receipt in front of me:

Price: $267
6% Sales Tax: $16.02
Total: $283.02

That makes a low $300's price tag not seem too bad for those who couldn't make the show or get a proxy.

If shipping is included, then maybe so. It all boils down to what you wanna pay. All I'm saying is... Consider your options.
There were a bunch of these in certain combos, and only a scant few in others... Jungle Green B11, there may have only been something like 8-10 and that was that. The Black...there was a BUNCH of 'em.

Asymmetrical edge is what I want but not enough to pay the mark-up. I will wait on the Ganzaa.

The Asyms were pretty darn limited... I didn't score a black one at all, but got a few others like green and Sage. TOUGH competition to get those Asyms!!

It really does boil down to what people will pay. I wouldn't pay that though. It's key to be educated like you said, and I would add know who you're buying from. :D:thumbup:
