I know Warrior likes hiking in the Garden of the Gods area, so here's one you might enjoy next time you're down this way Dubz.

Park in the backpacker's lot and catch the American Discovery trail (just north of it), head east.

A couple of miles of up and down.

You'll come to the wilderness boundary and take the trail to the right.

Be absolutely sure you don't have a hang glider in your pack.

Couple of miles down this trail look for the crack in the wall.

Just a bit further and you come to this.
It's a secret meeting place used for centuries by various Indian tribes. Was also the meeting spot of the "Knights of the Round Table" which was a precursor to the KKK.

One of my all time favorite camp spots, but we were just poking around today.

Here's some fun shots we took of the inside. It's almost like slot canyons.

That looks freakin' awesome brother. Damn. Definitely a beautiful area. Thanks for the heads up about the hang glider. I get tired of carrying that sumbitch in my pack.

Another great post Trade! Thanks for taking the time to post this for us to see.

Looks like a great place to hang a hammock.

Awesome pics Trade!! I really enjoyed them! Looks beautiful but I would have probably spazzed on that fit between the rocks lol

Trade, where is this? Is this in Ky or is it in Il? It looks gorgeous!

No offense but I'd love to see Dubz' pictures of there.

Nice pics! Looks like some good bouldering there as well. It would be nice to have a place like that here in south FL!

Ok, that place is GORGEOUS! How tall are those rock formations. The rock looks very similar to what's found in the Red River Gorge in KY - perhaps not as tall, but definitely very climber-friendly! Also, nice work on using those walking sticks. They make a huge difference. Super popular in Europe but just starting to catch on in NA.

It's roughly sixty feet. The glaciers left them there and the melt water did the shaping. Southern Illinois is the southern edge of the last ice age.

I just found out that my brother is going to be driving to Chicago & back in Sept. So I sent him this link. I hope he gets to stop and enjoy.

None taken. I always consider the source before I become offended. ;) Here's a thought. It's less than two hours from St. Louis. You could drive down, hike in and actually see it in person!

Tell me I'm not the only one who thought of Garden of the Gods in Colorado?!?!

Nice pics, thanks for sharing!

That place looks awesome, thanks for the pics Tradewater! I can only hope to one day hike through that place.
