So i still havent gotten to try out the hogue knives but my gf likes pretty knives and the gmascus 3.5 inch hogue strikes me as pretty. How is that button lock to use? nice and easy for girly hands to disengage or is it tough? Im thinking of getting myself an aluminum 4 incher if i get her one. Im looking to try something new.

Its not exactly a girly knife but my wife likes the button lock on mine. I have the 3.5 aluminum version and its incredibly smooth to open and close and the button lock is large and easy to press in. If your girlfriend likes the look of it I say go for it.

So does this mean your thread about a dying passion was not really accurate? I'm still a bit confused after reading that last one is all.

She doesnt like girly things to say, she just has them tiny girly hands.

I always buy the same kind of stuff hoping something completely different might respark something.

maybe a 3.5" blade will be a little much for "tiny girly hands"
but I agree the gmascus 3.5" EX0-1 is a nice folder and would be my first pic out of all the Hogue line

If I might be so bold as to recommend something to you, it may just reignite that spark. Great Eastern Cutlery. Yes, traditional pocket knives. They make a Sodbuster style, single blade, great steel O-1 I believe, for around $50. It's a solid knife every which way around. As for your wiminz, she may like a Spyderco Dragonfly Tattoo series, or a Cricket. Bother very nice, small, "cute" and they can graduate to something bigger later. If that fails, a Kershaw Skyline, Shallot, Leek, Blur, all awesome. I would not recommend something to you without the benefit of my own previous use. Seriously, check into those.

As for the OP, I'd recommend taking a look at Mcusta and Moki. They both make stunning pocket knives...

FWIW, my girlfriend has played with every knife that I've ever owned at one point or another and her favorite locking mechanism is the AXIS (so much that she bought her own), followed by a button lock Protech auto that I had.

I have smaller hands for a man (wear a size medium glove) and I much prefer the size of the 3.5" Hogue EX01 over the 4". I tend to agree that even the 3.5" is a bit large for EDC knife tasks but with that said I have carried my Gmascus 3.5" drop point almost daily for about 2 years. I have spent more for a pocket knife and have yet to find a knife I liked as much as the Hogue. I will also say I prefer the G10 (Gmascus) over aluminum for the unique look, steel bolster plates, and better cosmetic wear resistance compared to anodized aluminum. Give it a try I think you or the gf will like it.
