Merry Christmas everyone,
I recently bought a new Boss. I mounted it on a small tool table, and it was not solid. I made this horse for it. It is solid now! The large pipe is hydraulic cylinder stock (1018) and has a 3/8" wall. The seat stem is 1/4" cylinder stock. The square tubing is 1/8" stock. The top plate is 3/8" and tapped 7/16" for the bolts that hold the machine down. And, the top plate is welded to a 1/2" thick piece of cylinder material that fits tight inside the big pipe- it turns! I can position the machine where I want it- both sideways and up and down. The eye bolt serves as a set screw.
I drove from MN to NJ to have Thanksgiving with my son, DIL, and new granddaughter. On the way home I swung up to Ft. Wayne and visited Tippmann. Got to go out on floor. What a great place! I bought a left foot and the spool of thread you see on the machine. (Hit a major snowstorm when we left, and had to pull off after a couple of hours).
And finally- I am now a full-time knifemaker/musician. I retired after 36 years as an elementary school principal in July.
Happy Holidays,
Milt
