Just picked up another Mili from NC Blades. Kind of pimped at the factory with the shell inlay around the pivot and finger grooves milled in. NOw how does one make this a smoother or easier to open folder? Does it come apart easily? Is the thong hole in the handle is that a press fit etc. etc. Merry Xmas and keepem sharp

Until one of the brainiacs gives you a good answer, I just take a few drops of FP10 or militec gun CLP (oil) on the pivot/lockup area and then open and close the knife about a zillion times. Don't know if it improves things, but as long as I think it does thats all that matters. :)

Use it.

Really, that's all it takes to smooth out a Spyder. Pop a movie in the VCR/DVD player, and open and close it for the duration of the movie. By the time the credits roll, your knife will be smooth as glass. A little oil helps, but is not necessary unless the knife was sitting on a dealers shelf for a while.

I highly recommend the Mil-Comm family of lubricants. They're the best I've ever used, especially for guns & knives. Particularly, the TW25B, which is a lubricant paste. I just bought a new Sebenza, took it apart immediately, cleaned it, and dosed it with the TW25B. It's slicker than owl poop now, and five years from now will show no wear (I know this for a fact, having used it on another Sebenza). It's great stuff, and worth the investment if you love your knives & guns. It really does take away the 'break-in' period on new knives, and provides the ultimate long-term protection, as well.

Thanks for the info. But I ended giving the pimped mili to my brother yesterday. I had it reasonably smoothed out and he is going to clip it to his bike vest. I use mil tech and that seemed to work reasonably well. keepem sharp and Happy Holidays.
