Last week I was lucky enough to win my first give away here on the traditional forum! This beautiful Böker equal end jack showed up in my mailbox today courtesy of Dan. I managed to give her a quick clean, oil, a few strokes on the stones, and dropped her in my bag right before heading off on a day hike with my girlfriend. With the James River here in Richmond as a backdrop I managed to snap a few shots to share with everyone as a token of my immense appreciation for Dan's generosity!

This is my first Böker and I'm crazy happy with it. She has some real heft but pockets easily. Superb fit and finish and the carbon blades came from Dan with nice edges on them that got hair exploding sharp in no time. Smooth walk and loud talk, tight blades, no cracks, no rubbing, just plain quality that begs to be fondled and admired.

We took a break under this bridge about halfway into the hike where the Böker excelled admirably at apple duty.

Timed it just right to catch the sunset as we crossed the river again heading back to the car. A very nice first day with a very nice knife. Just wanted to let you know that you're awesome Dan, and everyone on here in the traditional realm! Can't wait to get my next give away up and running and keep the good karma going~

Just an exceptional beauty!! Great photo essay of the walkabout. Way to go Dan and Congrats Jon

Awesome pictures and hike story.

Additionally, I think that is the first time I have heard of hair-exploding edge geometry!

I love to walk along railroad tracks, and one of my first hobbies was train pictures.

Congrats on the win, and thanks to Dan for the great giveaway!!

Now that is a loooong pull! And some very nice bone. German Bokers are some well made knives.

Well done! Appreciation should be accompanied by pics (if you can). ;)

Good on you for the thread, and good on Dan for the generosity!

Congrats on winning that neat old Boker! Very cool knife and beautiful pics!

Good on you for a great GAW Dan

A beautiful knife and great photographs Jon. Wonderful act of generosity Dan :)

Very nice Boker! It looks as if the James River gets any higher its going to wash the trains off the tracks! OH

Congrats, that's a good looking knife. Where did you take the 4th picture? looks like it was shot from the cemetery. Great pictures, and a great knife. Good job Dan, being so generous!

Wow, looks like a great time. Glad you like the knife, thanks for sharing the beautiful pics. That first pic captures the beauty of the old girl.

She is a thick gal... :D

Very nice knife. Looks like it hopped out of an early 1900s knife catalog.

Yeah, while I love all the rain we're getting for the flora's sake, I haven't been able to go swimming in ages with the river in its raging deathtrap state!

Yup, on the narrow little trail right below Hollywood Cemetery. Can be a bit precarious walking single file along a sheer drop off with reckless mountain bikers coming at you from both directions :)

Thanks for the kind words all!

Jon
