It's got to be close because on a certified scale the indicator read between 3.75 and 4 lbs.. I'm thinking this axe wasn't used much. Thanks, DM

Unusual amongst Swede axe heads this one appears not to have flat cheeks. Notice the scallops on both sides up near the eye.

I had noticed that but I do not know as much as you gents. So, I was asking. The cheeks have a rounding a 1/2" from the edge. Then are wedged increasing to the eye.? Thanks, DM

Judging from the toe I would tend to disagree. I would say it was used quite a bit at some point. Interesting HB for sure though, on the heavy side and a high centerline.

That axe might be from the 1950s.

A 1957 advertisement (from Canada) for Hults Bruk's axes shows
"12 weights -- from 1-1/2 lbs. to 5-1/2 lbs."

Nice axe head David.
I came across a little 1 1/2lb HB head a couple weeks ago that has a eye size that is to big for a boys axe handle so I have to wonder what size eye your four pounder has? I have had other HB heads that were not so over sized also. Just strange....
