I just finished making this knife for my Dad. He wanted to post it up but is not a member yet. He was looking for a hunting/field dressing knife that could double as a light bushcrafter. This is 1095 steel, 3/16" thick, differentially heat treated. Handle is desert ironwood. Brass hardware. Thorny vine filework. I left a good portion of the spine plain to strike a firesteel. I wanted to make a good usable knife and add some flair at the same time. I think it should work out nicely for him. Comments welcome.

Beautiful work, just the right size, too.
May he have many years of pleasure using it.
I guess you were worth the trouble of raising! :D

Beautiful Knife. I made knives for several years when I was younger, and can certainly appreciate seeing other makers custom knives. The filework is awsome as well. I hope your father gets to break it in dressing the buck of a lifetime !

That is a definately an honest working knife with some flair! Great material selection too. Good job sir, I know your dad will love it.

Wow! Very nice, looks like a great practical user with a good bit of tasteful flair. I think you nailed it, man . Great work!

That is a beautiful piece of work, great lines for blade and handle...and what a special gift, I'm sure your Dad will treasure this.
