One of the mopes that burned nine churces in Alabama says it was a "joke that got out of hand,"

Understand, he's not taking about lighting up a church and then, unexpectedly, it all burned down. He's characterizing the burning of nine different churches -- one after the other -- over a period of days.

Capital punishment for really, REALLY, REALLY lame excuses? I mean do we want him in the gene pool?

And prior to executing him, take him around to visit everyone of the congregations, have him look them in the eyes, and explain that burning down their houses of worship was a joke, a way for him to get some kicks. Then fry the piece of crap.
Sorry guys, I'm in a bloody mood, it's all over the news here in Texas that the police just hauled in a guy for brutally raping a 13 month old little girl, left in his care by his dumb as dirt girlfriend who may or may not have known she'd been dating a registered sex offender for five months now. 13 months old, a baby, a helpless, innocent little child. Wish we still had public hangings, if need be, I would walk all the way to Austin, just to see that bastard swing.

The only joke in this story was the statement made by the arsonist. I didn't find it particularly funny.

Don't worry. He'll get some time for this, and contrary to what the media often reports, prison is not fun. (At least, not here.)

Pipsqueak.
We'll be seeing more low crimes without rhyme or reason.

The only joke "joke that got out of hand" was the one who said such a thing and the joke that got out of his daddy's hand some damned way was him. :grumpy:
Some seed should be wasted by dumping it on the ground ainnit.

The bastard that did that to the little baby ought to be turned over to those of us who know what should be done and the stomach and cajones to do it.
And then the results of what was done should be televised live for those other sex offenders who would and do such crap themselves!

My late brother told me a story about a Castro Army Officer who raped a child in a rural village. My brother and his friends captured the cabrone and set off a piece of "det cord" wrapped around the neck. "Got the job done."

Although I am much in agreement with you, public executions are a slippery slope and unanticipated consequences are bound to get ugly.

The "got out of hand" part made me think of Fight Club.

AMEN to that idea about the churches!

To the second guy, I say cut off his arms, legs and pecker and leave him in a dumpster. 13 MONTHS! I was mad when I thought you said "13 Years!"

Also in a bloody mood this morning.

I.m all for the Det cord thing except I think it was placed around the wrong part of the anatomy . Save the Det cord for opening champagne bottles Just a couple of cherry bombs would do .

As for "Mr. "It was a joke" ? Not that I am into segregation but just place him in an all black prison . He can explain the punch line in there . That way we can all have a laugh .

Just another bit of proof that as people live longer, the young remain children longer:mad: Setting something on fire "for fun" and having it burn down by accident is something a 7 year old child would do. 18, 19, and 20 year olds should damn well know that arson is no *&^% joke! Look, I know a church is a church. It's a building. The people of that church will rebuild in faith, community, and love. However, the historic value of some of these churches is priceless. I couldn't imagine some of the old as dirt churchs that are 100 or 150 years old erected without modern means out around my childhood stomping grounds. My family was not a church going family, however as a construction guy my father marvles more at how little ol' brick chapples were built more than the towering mega-churches.
How in the world could an adult think that burning a place of worship to the ground could POSSIBLY be taken as a joke..let alone NINE. My God, if you want to be a dumb@$$ed college kid and pull dumb@$$ed college pranks...fine. Go rent Animal House and pull some of those. No church burning by the Deltas;) Heck, ol' Steely pulled a few in his time in college. We got a rare Kentucky snowfall one year. With that the rowing crew "erected" a 6' snow...memeber complete with full "equipment" in the lawn of the dean. We had a laugh, the cops pulled it down, no holy places were reduced to ash.
These punks need to be beaten within an inch of their life...and then whooped a foot more:mad:

(Edited to respond as planned to this quote. He burned down white churches too, so it wasn't racially motovated from what I've heard. I know the south has a reputation, but we still have to look at the facts.)

As Dave said he'll have quite a time laughing at himself in prison. First offense though and nobody died, so he won't be there long enough.

As for that douchbag who raped a baby we should drop a car on his ass for sure. IMHO capital punnishment in this country is not a deterrent. A soft easy death 20 years from now doesn't scare anyone. We should make capital punnishment more violent, and more public too, as uncivilized as that sounds. Hanging, the guilotine, electrocution, these things are more of a deterrant, and humane enough IMHO. The stake, or a nice rough cross would be good for this sumbitch. I bet that guy is out of prison in five years!!!! Bastid. :thumbdn:

Public beatings for the church burners, as well as forced labor till the churches are rebuilt, then some more pokey time.

The other one should be emasculated, and then choked with the spare parts. This type of guy can not be rehabilitated, and has no worth.

Sarge,

I can identify with your feelings. I was in the mode of public hangings, but have changed to execution by firing squad..........I"ll hold the gun with the bullet..........and I'm a pretty darn good shot. I had to change when i found out about the thing that would happen to men when they were hanged. I figure the sex offender doesn't deserve one last good one:grumpy: I've had to hold 2 little babies now that have been raped by class 3 sex offenders.....I have a hard time deciding who the biggest scum bag is, the offender or the Mom who leaves the innocent with them. I'm known at the center for my tears and the little ones are my tear jerkers............may it continue that way until I don't do this job anymore. I'm not ashamed to cry in public over the innocent little ones.

As for the church creep...........yup.............castrate him and then hang him.:grumpy:

I'm almost sorry the baby raper was brought up. Now I have kids, I can't stand to hear about it. My wife works with the victims. But I guess it makes sense to bring up a shocking horrible inhumane crime in a thread where we are talking about blind ignorant stupid crimes, like a mere church burning. The general direction is we're going down. There are some crimes, and some criminals, that should be dealt with as simply as possible, with a bullet.

I always thought the argument against the death penalty and or real long term jail as being inhumane, that we can't take up God's mantle and decide these things, was at root just arrogant and vain. Because we aren't playing God when we put to death a rabid dog, we are simply defending ourselves.

YOUR a joke that got out of hand. Dont' believe me? Just ak your mother...

Just kidding.

Those Smack-tards should burn.

O, and Munk, we are NOT taking up Gods mantle by excuting criminals. God himself says that perpetrators of certain crimes are to be executed. Check Leviticus.

You misread, Mr Trooper; we have a right to execute and in some cases staying that is arrogant and playing God.

take care,

I'm strongly opposed to the death penalty as it's currently implemented in this country, but not on principle -- it's the execution (pardon the pun) that bothers me. In my view of the world there are people that have to die, but someone has to make that decision. Who? I can't think of anyone that I trust well enough to make that decision, not even myself. I certainly don't trust the government to do it. Who, then?

Is rehabilitation possible? Should we even make the attempt? How many chances at redemption is an offender entitled to?

Are we seeking correction, or revenge? What are our motivations when we demand our pound of flesh? I challenge everyone to give this some thought.

A brief look through at the history of crime and punishment (at least in America) is enlightening. The will of the people changes quite frequently. We're doing it differently today than it was done even a decade ago, and I'm sure that it will change again in another ten years.

Were I imprisoned, I would rather be known as a church burner than a sex offender. I would rather be known as Adolf Hitler than a sex offender, for that matter. (Hitler has a few supporters here and there.)

Anyone care to invoke Godwin's Law? I don't see this thread going anywhere good, but I've been feeling rather cynical lately.

In my eyes, if it can be proven beyond doubt that a criminal commited a heinious crime like the baby rapist, or torturer/murderers, he is no longer human. Revenge? It is neither correction nor revenge. It is just permanently putting down an individual threat so it can no longer harm others. Just like a rabid animal.

I think from a demented baby rapist like this we are seeking niether correction or revenge, but deterrance. That person's only value is as a tool of society. His duty to society at this point, in my mind, is to suffer the worst possible, most public death so that others experience fear and revulsion when considering these types of crime. Only then have we achieved deterrance. What we do now is too soft and does little for our society. I am arguing that a more brutal punnishment is the only way to stop these crimes.

I say roll him in egg, then in flower. Then drop his sorry ass in a large vat of boiling oil in the town square. I'll bet the clinics fill up with molestors looking for help if this was the punnishment.

Sorry if that is just too much, but since I've had a child these type of crimes haunt me. If I was left alone with the person who did this to my daughter it would be worse than that for him.
