Hi Folks,

I hope you forgive me if this post is not appropriate for this particular forum, but, I am very interested in specialized expertise of the people in this forum. I'm long loved the classic K-bar grind, I just think it's a cool looking and useful design. However,, I've also been in love with the handle designs you see in many old time hunting designs. This is my attempt to blend the two designs together. As the maker, I'm too close to this to determine if I've succeeded, or created a monstrosity. The 6.5" blade is heavily etched 1084, slightly blued in a classic blacksmith finish, the handle is brushed N.S. and brass spacers, blackwood, and B&w ebony. Please let me know what you think. If you don't like it, let me know, I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea, so to speak.

P.S. Mod, if this post is not appropriate for this forum, please just remove to the back end.

That's really cool. The People at Ka-bar and their mods seem to like knives inspired by the USMC MK2 design.

The blade is as close as I could make it to the original USMC design. It's a surprisingly hard blade to get "right." Not sure why I went so fancy with the handle, for some reason it just felt right. I'm thinking of it as a fancy theatre knife. But, I've always marched to a different drum. Thanks a lot for commenting. I appreciate it.
