I've been going over my Camillus history notes, and decided to get a few examples of the older knives. Adolph Kastor & Bros., founded by Adolph in 1876 in New York City was mainly an importer. After buying the Camillus NY. factory owned by Charles Sherwood in 1902, Adolph Kastor, and then his sons Alfred and Robert made knives under several tang stamps over the years. In 1903, Kastor added the Clover brand. In 1906, they added the Sword brand. In 1923 Albert Baer landed the Sears account, and eventually they used the Sta-Sharp, Dunlap, and Kwik-Kut brands on Sears knives. In 1936, Camillus added Stream Line, Camco, Syracuse Knife Co., Mumbly Peg, and High Carbon Steel U.S.A. trademarks. Others used, according to Goins, were Kent, Pathfinder, Gold Coin, XLNT, and Seven In One.

My scanner leaves a lot to be desired, but this is a 3 1/8" Clover Brand jack I recently acquired. The tangstamp is:
CLOVERBRAND
SYRACUSE
U.S.A.

Let's see 'em guys!

Well, while I am waiting for someone to see this and dish up a picture of their own Camillus "Old School" pocketknives, here is another Clover Brand I acquired, a 3 3/8" "Serpentine Jack Knife" pattern, according to my old Schrade Cut Co catalogs. I find interesting the use of the "California clip blade (is this the right term?) instead of a plain clip or spear blades for the master blade I've most commonly on pre-war jacks which I've seen.
