A kind of problem with my new Ocelot

I am new at this forum, so I would like to say hello to everybody.

4 days ago I received my new Ocelot PE. It is goddamn sharp and I like both the design and its ergonomics. The blade shape and curvature is something I really loved.
However some kind of... problem I experienced - I love handling and playing with it so much that in few more days I won't have any hair left on my arms or legs anymore - all cut by my new Ocelot (you know it looks a bit silly) :(((
Can anyone help?

Visit a barber shop and buy some superglue.

Now THAT is a funny problem!! You could start on your legs next!! LOL! Congrats on the Ocelot!!

I know right where you are at!!:p . The only thing to do is to suppress the urge to cut that hair. My arms have been pretty much bald a few times. Oh and TKC, I have gone to my legs more than once also:o .

Thanks guys !!!
Newspapers and dog shaving not as much satisfying... today only few hair left.. Ocelot... my Crazy Cute Sweet Baby... probably I'll get rogaine... the Chinook II is on his way to me :)))

Don't let these guys fool you. We are all running around with bald spots on our arms and some on the legs too because they've run out of hair elsewhere. I hear tell some have tested the edges of their knives on their wives arms while they sleep but we won't go there right now. :D

Right!!! My Ocelot is as good on bellyhair as on any other! I absolutely love this knife :)

But I received the Chinook II just yesterday and so far I am quite disappointed - it feels like a great knife too, but the one I received seems very, very slovenly finished :( The blade is decentered to the side, the end of the lockbar is not equal but just oblique...
and it is not sharp at all... actually it is just BLUNT !!!! I tried delicately to improve it using my TSharpmaker but it didn't get any better... (I am not as good in sharpening, so I was afraid to take any more pronounced action)
I know this is a production and not a custom knife but having so perfect Ocelot I was expecting much better quality :( Finally it is a new knife and it was not cheap either... Is it typical for Spyderco US production that the quality is worse? I hope it is not...
Actually I don't know what to do now:
Do you think sending it to factory for improvement is possible ( I read there is such service) and reasonable at all? (I live in Europe and it would mean high shipping costs and maybe custom complications)
Generally I like the Chinook's design and ergo's a lot too, so I would like to keep this knife, but the quality makes me very unhappy...

Hi JPS, could you take it back to your dealer and ask for a replacement? That would be the cheapest route to go.

If not the service center of Spyderco is great. Just more expensive for you folks over the pond to ship to.

I have a couple of Chinooks and they are the same quality you would expect based on your Ocelot. I wonder if you were sent a used model? :thumbdn:

zenheretic It is in box and it looks new but now I think it is possible they (flamesnknives) sent me some return or so :( It looks like it is just not carefully assembled using some not high-quality parts. I wrote email to the dealer stating I want an exchange or refund and I am waiting for their answer. But still I will have to send it back to the US :(

I just received an exchange Chinook II from the seller. Now it is good quality and I see it is an excellent knife, too.
