Saw on the wifes screen she ordered one for my birthday. Supposed to be a suprise, but I think she got me a Mega Pounder Bowie in satin. Any thoughts or opinions about this? What you all think of their 1095? He says "shaving sharp" on the website but at the same time says the edge is gritty...How can this be so?? Just any and all info is appreciated! I can not wait to hack something up with it! Might even go to the junk yark and try to cut a roof off a Datsun or something...:thumbup::cool:
 
The gritty edge you are referring to is a toothy edge. Toothy edges are not polished at a high grit, therefor the idea behind them is that the edge is composed of a bunch of "micro serrations". Some prefer polished edges and some prefer toothy edges, but sharp is sharp.

Also, congrats on the Pounder, it will serve you well.
 
I have the Mega Pounder Bowie and it is a great knife. I also have two Satu folders and they're wonderful as well. Just act surprised and then go out and chop stuff down!!!
