Hi. I am a UK based maker, mostly doing folders now. Let me know what you think of this one thanks. Yes the title is a play on a movie I saw a long time ago: 'A Man called Horse'! The native American tribe was Sioux though... Anyway:
Weight 109g/3.84ounce
OAL 169mm/6.65inch
Closed 98mm
Thickness 13mm
Titanium Grade 5 liners, bolsters (removable), interspacer/detail
Spacer is hardened N690
Scales are Namibian Camelthorn with vulcanised fibre trim and light French polish finish
Stainless suminagashi effect san mai blade with VG10 core, HCl etch, HRC not tested on this actual blade but HT followed accurately, the multi layers made it tricky
Double detent mechanism
'Little Constant' is 1cm by 1 inch to help with sizing
Thanks for looking

I like this a lot. Looks like it is an outstanding cutter.

I just looked through your images on edgematters and I am impressed! I especially admire the knife you call "Spine". I hope you continue to post here and I look forward to seeing more of your work. For those of us in the Wild West of the US (and too lazy to look it up on the magical interweb knowledge highway), what makes a knife "UK carry legal"?

I appreciate that. In the UK you are allowed a knife on your person for general use if the blade is no longer than 3 inches - theoretically 3 inches cutting edge - and it does not have a locking mechanism (thus no fixed blade of any description unless there is a valid reason ie. builder or butcher etc. doing their job). However you can get arrested for any offensive weapon incl legal carry pocketknives, by being in the wrong place with it. Hope that makes sense. Ignatius

Why would you call it "Apache". Neither it nor you have any ties to the Apaches that I can see.

Thank you for your question. Does the handle shape and distal flare remind you of one, or the blade shape, maybe the feather/arrowhead shaped filing has a tangential link? If not don't sweat it it is just a name, it could have been given a number. I made the knife first then thought about the name, sometimes that leads to interpretation... I also don't limit myself to making knives 'from my background'. Hope this helps. Google 'handmade native american knives', something I did after your question. Thanks for looking.

I did the Google, I'm not sure, so I'll ask: which result do you want me to look at?
He just means for you to have a look around and see what visual connections you might make. I don't think it's meant to prove anything.

Yes, just thought you might encounter some pictures of blades as I did, resembling this one in shape. This is probably all I can do to help you settle the naming issue. All the best for now.
