Just finished this one for a fellow forum friend, first time using mammoth ivory (on a fixed blade). I started the sheath and it's also the first time using an exotic leather for an inlay (thanks again Paul). Definitely not speedy in the shop lately but I'll post the sheath when it's finished, if it doesn't take too long and this thread isn't too deep in the archives :)

Specs.
5 7/8" clay/polished 1095 blade
Silicon bronze and copper guard
Beautiful (IMHO) mammoth ivory scales on a bronze and copper frame
10 3/4" o.a.l.

Thanks, comments welcome,
Dave

this one may be a little better except for the camera reflection at the blade tip :)

what Keith said.

Absolutely gorgeous piece. Love it! I have one of your smaller stag hunters and can just imagine how this one would feel in hand. Lucky customer.

Great looking knife. The tip in the photos aren't too bad, it's the butt that looks like it has different shaped exposed tang. Though, keep focusing on the knives, Coop and others can take care of the photos...:D

Hello Dave,
I wonder, will your chef friend use this knife while hunting for the
"ingredients" of his cooking? :)

All the best,

VERY nice looking knife. The treatment along the spine and the ferrule really add to the overall look. Nice piece of mammoth ivory also.

Peter

Thanks very much you guys!!

I'm honored Roger thank you, please remember even though you didn't purchase directly from me, if you ever have any issues with the knife I'll take care of it.

I agree Jose, let the pros take the pro photos, it definitely pays!

Hi Dr. David, If he uses an ivory handled Hanson in the kitchen, I'm sure he won't hesitate using this one :)

Dave

I have yet to see one of your knives that I haven't admired. This one is no exception.

Paul

That knife look fantastic, I really like the detail work on the spine of the handle and the gaurd, it really makes the knife imho. The blade hamon looks great and I am a fan of that ivory as well.

In my original post I said I would show the finished sheath....wasn't able to work in the shop for a while so it took quite a bit longer to finish then I thought, plus I waited to hear back from Michael (chefget) to make sure he liked the knife and sheath before posting it :)

Thanks again to Paul Long for giving me the alligator to use for my first exotic inlay.

Dave
