Well, I just thought I'd post this here.
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/env...apped-whale-20120822-24ljo.html#ixzz24F6b4ODV
A regular guy saves a whale (!) that got stuck in a shark net that had drifted away from the shore. He took the plunge and used his kitchen knife to cut through several ropes, so the whale was eventually able to free itself and swim away to live another day.
This is a nice tribute to what a knife can do, imo. It doesn't always have to be brand X supersteel Y-knife, regular knives cut as well.
The guy did a great thing and was able to get a lot of use out of his ordinary kitchen knife.
I love reading stuff like this, eventhough it won't change the general public opinion on knife-matters.
Just thought I'd share this positive story with you guys. It was even in the local newspaper here in Belgium(?!), it's summer I guess
Cheers
