A knife storage question....

Quite a few knives sit in my safe which has a Goldenrod for humidity control. Question is this: To sell a knife later as "NIB", is it improper to wipe the blade down with a Tufcloth for additional protection?

The reason I ask is that I checked all the knives the other day, and I can see a little rust developing on one blade when I use a magnifying glass. May seem like a dumb question, but I'd like to know what the experts think.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I think the general concensus will be yes.

I would rather have you tell me it's NIB with a little wipe of Tuffglide than a little speckling of rust.

I would say that NIB means exactly what it stands for: New in Box. Never taken out of the plastic bag (if there is one), never fondled.

If it has been taken out, I tell people exactly what I've done, e.g. opened a few times and wiped with Tuf-Cloth.

Thanks AlphalphaPB for your input. Changes made according to your suggestions.
