A knife you would not mind losing.

For me it would be my Spyderco Delica. Don't get me wrong. I like Spyderco products but am not a big fan of serrations. I would promptly order a new plain edge with VG-10 steel.

Anyone else? Maybe you have a piece of junk, or perhaps your blade is well used and owes you nothing.

No tears, no sadness....time to move on.

My old Buck Lightning. Is part serrated, and the blade is not long enough that I like that. There is now some blade play in it too.

Prbably this old Opinel I picked up somewhere. Very inexpensive. Very useful, and very sharp as it has somewhat of a convex grind to it. I have a buddy who lives in Lyon, France. He says people over there treat like disposables. Few bother to sharpen them. You just use it until it's dull, then toss it.

Hey, guys, if you're looking for some help losing those, if you really want a reason to order a new one, I know this guy (who happens to be me) who would be happy to give them a real good home, make sure they get treated nice.

This is sort of a shame, as the 1075 steel is very easy to sharpen.

Kershaw small liner. That thing just will not take an edge. Don't like the design too much either.

I wouldn't even bat an eyelid if I lost that knife.

I've given away, or will be soon giving away, most of the knives that it would not break my heart to lose. Mostly Spydercos. I really have no interest in keeping ... a knife that I have no interest in keeping! ;) I'm trying to pare my modest little collection down to the essential.

Iwouldn't mind losing someone else's, who am I kidding, if I lose any knife it drives me crazy:mad: .

T.Erdelyi on this one. I looked at this thread a few times and could not come up with an honest answer! I even hold on to BROKEN knives!

It finally dawned on me though what I could part with:

Any or all of the knives that I have received as 'gifts' by well meaning basically clueless family, friends, and associates, who know me to be a 'knife' nut. How do I know which ones these are? Easy-the have CHINA written on them. I could lose everyone and not lose any sleep at all over them. No matter how 'shiny' or 'cool' looking someone else may think they are-give me an Oldtimer slip-joint any day!

It would have to be any knife that I considered 'new.' I even develop an attachment to a cheap or free knife if I use it a lot. I've always loved my Opinels, and believe it or not, that little 3 inch Chinese clip point is starting to grow on me.

Last year when the medical bills started to add up, a friend of mine bought 1,000 dollars worth of my closet queens. I could care less. I never carried them, I had no attachment.

Leemah1,
Any knife I carry I like alot. I don't like loosing knives especially ones I carry.

I only buy users and none too expensive at that. So the only knives I WOULD mind losing are the two slipjoints that were my Grandad's. Otherwise, if I lose one, it's bittersweet. I'm sorta bummed, naturally, to lose a knife - but I'm happy to have a valid excuse to buy a new one. With knives, I'm something of a minimalist, definitely not one of those "I'm going for a stroll in the woods this Saturday, better buy a new Sebenza" types.

I don't like losing anything that I paid for or that was given to me, but if I had to lose something, I would prefer an inexpensive ($30 or less) knife that was currently in production so that it could be easily replaced.

You mean my POS Schrade Middleman that I carry at school because I don't give a flying... well you know, if it's confiscated?

I wouldn't shed a tear if I lost my EZ-Out. But since I dislike it so much I never carry it, and therefore won't lose it. Now that's a pity.

Anything with a loose blade. Drives me nuts! Unfortunately anything with a loose blade ends up in a drawer so...

As I collect many ranging in price from inexpensive to more than I care to think about, I don't want to lose any. I like looking at my collection from time to time and handling some long time friends. Own a lot, carry a few and save to get more.

No that's a conundrum.

I have a few kitchen knives that I would like to loose. They are not bad, but loosing them would give me an excuse to by some really nice ones. ;)
