A large Benchmade Rukus ~$180.00 and

A Spyderco Endura G-10 ~$120.00 and

A Buck/Mayo Kaala ~$67.00 and

A Buck Hartsook ~$24.00

OR

The Benchmade, the Spydie, and a Buck Custom Shop 110 in BG-42 with Koa scales and nickel silver bolsters? ~404.00

It's been pretty tough deciding.

Get the Sebenza. If you want a Sebbie, then get one, no other knife will substitute for a Sebbie.

If you have the money for it, get the Sebenza. I was very skeptical about them, but after handling one I think that they're definitely worth trying out. Didn't have it long enough to tell if it's worth the price of admission, but I was very impressed with the quality of the knife. It was backwards, but apart from that, I thought it was a very nice knife. May have to get one someday.

"The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten" Sir Henry Royce 1863-1933

Go with the Sebbie

If you can get it, get the Sebbie. There are no substitutions. Also spend the $24 and get a Hartsook. They are a tremendous little cutting tool. Happy spending :)

Option 3 sounds the best to me. I'm lusting after a custom shop 110 in the worst kind of way. :D

+ 1 for the Sebbie. I also recommend the Buck Mayo TNT--it is a well made knife! both are s30v.

Boats, you know that you will never be satisfied until you get that Custom 110 Koa. :)

Get the Benchmade Rukus, Custom Shop 110, drop the spyderco and get some extra grip panels for the Rukus. This is coming from a certified Sebenza lover!! I'm just completely enamored with the Rukus! Of course you could get a ZT0200 and a ZT0500 and still have enough for theat Custom Shop 110.....just something else to think about.:)

Get the Sebbie. After a while you will lust and buy other knives. But the Sebbie is like gold sitting in your dusty closet. Its always there whispering to you, and you will never loose money investing in a CRK.

If you really want the Sebbi then get it. Because if that is what you really want, then you might end up looking at the one you bought instead and thinking, "dam I wish." And that SUCKS!
What I may be tempted by is the BM Mini Rukus and the Spydi Stretch 2.

Thanks for the input guys. I got a NIB large classic unique graphic LH, (yes, I am a southpaw), right here off of the exchange.

I guess I want to see for myself what all of the fuss over the Sebenza is about.

Here it is and I'm sure he'll love it.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Sebenza! I would one of those over several lower priced knives any day. One knife should last a lifetime if properly used and maintained.

benchmade, spyderco, and buck make fine knives.

but the sebenza is in a different category, imo.

quality over quantity.

Is that a Kershaw JYDII copy?

Sorry!

Neat knife - I am sure you will enjoy it. But, as Boats, won't you need a Marlin spike?

Congrats!
