so i got my Leek about four months ago, its just the standard stainless version. i haven't bee abusing it in the least or anything other than just opening packages and cutting small easy things. a week or so ago i noticed that it no longer opened all the way when i pressed the assisted opening stud on the back of the blade, it only comes out about half way and it takes the thumb stud to make it open the rest of the way. i've cleaned it and oiled it and still no go. any ideas? thanks

Bad torsion bar possibly. I would say take it apart and give it a good cleaning but you already did that. Check the pivot screw, you may have it too tight and might need to fine tune it.

If all else fails I'm sure Kershaw will send you out a replacement torsion bar

I'm new to the knife world, but I do own a Leek. My experience is that the blade can get hung up if you tighten the spine screws too tight. Try to loosen them a little and see if that helps. YMMV.

Great advice so far. Go slow as you loosen up the spine / pivot screws. After each small loosening try to open the blade and see if that has helped. If this does not work give Kershaw a call and they will send you a new torsion spring. It is easy to replace. This approach is better than sending your knife back to Kershaw. I hate the dang waiting when a knife is out for repair.
