This was posted on the Spyderco Forum not too long ago.
Now, if we all devour that run quick enough, he will make more.
For those who do not know what the Calypso Jr. model is: It was a very ergonomic handle, coupled with a fully flat ground blade, of VG-10 steel. Mix it with an FRN handle, and you have about the best slicing knife available for it's price. It was a popular model with collectors who understood it's abilities, the general public however, not knowing about edge geometry, or steels, didn't understand it, so it was discontinued.
We have been bugging Sal for a long time about this. He has finally agreed and now we have this great knife back. Thank you Spyderco!

Hi Yog. the thread generated here on the Calypso jr. has convinced me to make at least one run of the FRN version to see viability of the run. They'll be gray FRN with VG-10. We plan to make 1000. They will all be plain edge. We will retain the name Calypso jr name to avoid additional tooling costs in this test. If the response is good, we will consider another run in another color FRN or even a micarta or ?? version.
The "plan" is for November delivery. I'd like to thank all of you for your support in requesting this design. We'll see what happens.
