:( The legendary Spaniard Seve Ballesteros has lost his battle with brain cancer. He passed away yesterday at the tender age of 54. This guy embodied the true spirit of the game of golf and he will be missed by a great many people. My thoughts and prayers are with Seve and his family and friends.

He was one fierce competitor on the golf course and fun to watch. No boring, straight down the middle, iron to the center of the green for Seve!

I was lucky enough to follow Seve some years ago at the Masters Tuesday practice round. Although he was very affable and friendly with the gallery between shots, when he addressed the ball he was all business. His face would just light up when he made a good shot and just the opposite when he was a little off target. He was one of the most passionate pro golfers ever and he will be missed. He's probably someplace with Payne Stewart right about now making the turn. RIP, Seve.
