I know this isn't hunting related, but I figured most that hang out here would appreciate it...

We have had a very large Mulie Buck in our area for quite a few years. He has become famous over the years. We actually have quite a few very large Bucks in our area. Heck we get them in our yard every so often, but this one was special...

Last year he got tangled up in some barbed wire and ODFW tranquilized him, and got him free. Kind of ironic, but he usually spent his time hanging out around the Nosler bullet factory here in Bend.

Today he got hit by a car and killed. It was sad reading this. I am surprised he lived as long as he did, because as we all know, there are always people that will try and kill large deer and elk just because.

I saw that today as well. I've been following Nosler for a few years on FB and always chuckled a bit when they would post pictures of Buck Norris in front of their sign. They say he was 9 or 10 years old. It's sad to see him gone but better than finding out he was poached.

Yep. Even though it is very ironic he would hang out at a bullet factory, it's like he knew he was safe hanging out at Nosler :D I'm glad he wasn't poached as well.
The last time we saw him was last fall. Every once in awhile you would see him walking down the side of the road. Not a care in the world. People would stop and take pictures and watch him.

I think I remember you posting pics of the Ole Boy. If my memory serves me, he was a Dandy!! Sad to hear.:(

It really is sad. We all knew he wouldn't be around forever, but I can't believe that whoever hit him, didn't stop...

The area he was in when he got was is a very busy area. What is odd is that he was in an area that was quite a distance from where he normally hung out.

This isn't a big town, there are roughly 78,000 people, but over the last 5 years or so, they have put in a ridiculous number of roundabouts, and most of them have some form of "art" in the center. One in particular has a life size bronze bull elk statue that is very cool. I'm going to suggest that they make a statue of him and install it in one of the new roundabouts that will be completed this year.

The statue would be cool. Years from now, people will wonder what this buck was that it merited a statue

I talked to one of the guys from a local T.V station about this today and suggested doing a plaque explaining why the Buck was so special.
He told me there has been local people talking about the same idea on Facebook. I told him that is cool, but I don't do Facebook :D
