A little 943 porn...

Okay so after searching unsuccessfully for a 941, I finally "settled" for a 943. She just came in the mail earlier this week. It's true I really wanted the green handle scales (along with the satin finished clip-point) of the 941 but apparently nobody in the universe wants to part with theirs.

Anyway, the 943 actually suprised me when I first took her out of the box. It really does look better in person. The black aluminum scales make the blade stand out alot. Stunning really. I love how the scales actually have some grip to them too. The grinds on the S30V clip-point blade are perfect as well. There is a teeny tiny bit of lateral blade play (even after adjusting the pivot while maintaining smooth action) but I've never been one to be overly concerned about a little blade play. Besides, this will not be a work knife; it will be worn for casual affairs only. "Light duty" is the name of the game with this one. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the 943 so far.

Well here's a little porn as promised. The last photo shown with my 707 Sequel. While I think the 707 is a great knife, it never gets pocket time because the ergonomics just don't agree with me. A little too small of a handle for my hands I think.

The 943 is my favorite Benchmade. Great summer carry!

You will love any knife from the 94x family, everyone usually does. They make for great EDC/work knives, and are relatively sheeple friendly ;)

Good knife porn BTW! Nice Glock

My 94x family - the only BM I don't mind picking multiple of ;)

The Government...wow those are some cool shots. Very visually pleasing. I can't wait till my 943 looks a bit more like yours...with some wear! There's nothing like a well broken-in, well-worn knife.

P_Meticulous....are those some combo-edges i see there??;)
What is the second one from the left? I like it. Is that a different kind of finish on the blade or is it just the lighting? Anyway, very impressive collection you got there.

I may have dabbled with some CE in the past! ;) & thanks, my collection is laughable compared to most I've seen - some c-r-a-z-y collections on some other forums - reaching over 150+

Regarding the knife - It's a 941 CFV - The carbon fiber is polished on the 941 CFV compared to the unpolished CF used on the -121. There was also two different CF types used between the two designs. I don't know which type was used on the CFV, but I know "3K Plain Weave" was used on the -121.

P_Meticulous;

THREE of the Ti and CF 940s! I am jealous as I would like to have just one. Actually my dream want is the second from the left in your photo but with the 940 style modified Tanto blade. Did BM ever do such a version?

I’ve only seen two guys on the BM dealer forum with a 940 D2CF - so, I believe they only had that one variant with the 940 reversed tanto blade style.

Here’s a link to a pic example - look at Post #5

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1001011-Gold-Class-Benchmade-940-vs-Damascus-Mnandi

They will be extremely hard to find however, I hope they consider doing full CF scales & M390 in the future - they would sell f-a-s-t! ;)

One of the best attributes of the 940 series is that you get a lot of usable blade in an extremely thin, light package that takes up no space in the pocket. I carry so much EDC stuff that I have to place a premium on the idea of lots of utility in something that doesn't take up much space. It also doesn't hurt that these knives open like butter, have that sweet, anodized (purple ?) titanium backspacer, tactile aluminum coating and S30V.

I know, its threads like this that are responsible for more than few of my knife purchases lol. I'm glad to be on the other end of it this time though, ha!

Ahh the consequences of the forum! I swear knife sales are boooooosted by forums.

Keepin’ up with the forumites lol

Some great pics in this thread... Love the 943 and the 940 is no slouch either. I have been passively looking for a 942, but alas the stars have not aligned as of yet.

Next on the list is a 940. If I can find a CF, or a plain normal green one.
Been toying with this for a while.

Which do you guys like better for edc, the 940 or the 943? Does anyone have a side by side comparison picture of the 940 and the 940 blades from a top view? I wanted to compare the blade tips on them.

You can kind of tell in my picture (post #14) above. The tip on the 940 will be stronger, there is a bit more metal behind it. I like both of them for EDC but find myself carrying the 943 more for some reason.

EDIT: Found a picture with a more pronounced angle, you can see the tips better.
