Every ounce removed in the field is one ounce less that you have to haul out. This Rinaldi utility adze does a great job of removing the waste wood from splitting the log.

Haha--yeah. Like hell I'm going to split and smooth a beech log with a knife! :D
 
They're good stuff. Obviously as a retailer of them it cheapens my endorsement somewhat, but I can tell you that getting them in takes way more work than other brands I carry for the same margin so if I was just a bean counter I wouldn't be going through all the trouble. :D I'm quite the fan, and their tools have made up the bulk of my most-used swung tools ever since I got my hands on them.
